Welcome To The Sigrid Rausing Trust
The Sigrid Rausing Trust is a grant-giving foundation based in London. It was founded in 1995 by Sigrid Rausing to support the international human rights movement.
We run five programmes: Civil and Political Rights, Women's Rights, Minority Rights, Social Justice and the Miscellaneous Fund. Each programme has a number of sub-programmes, which you will find by selecting a programme above.
Our guiding principles are:
- We recognise the essential role of core funding.
- We look for good and effective leadership.
- We are flexible and responsive to needs and opportunities.
- We value clarity and brevity in applications and reports.
- We establish long-term relationships with grantees.
The 2012 Trust budget is £20 million.
The Trust has given away approximately £177.4 million since 1995.
We currently run two special initiatives, the Strategic Fund for Turkey and the Middle East & North Africa Strategic Fund. You will find more information about them here.
