Cause of Death: Woman

Cause of Death: Woman is a photojournalistic project created by Swedish journalist Kerstin Weigl and author Karin Alfreddson, and hosted by the Swedish Association of Women’s Shelters and Young Women’s Empowerment Centres. The project focuses on the deaths of 10 women murdered in 10 different countries in order to document the causes and extent of violence against women worldwide. The project will launch its website in 2012, and will work with campaign organisations and journalists to raise awareness and improve reporting on gender-based violence.
