Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation

The Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation is a South African NGO established in 1989 which works to prevent violence, support victims and affected communities, and build sustainable peace in South Africa and the wider region. It identifies and addresses the causes and consequences of violence through advocacy, research, social mobilisation and psychosocial interventions. A large part of its work is focused on ensuring implementation of international and regional standards on torture prevention and redress for victims, and helping to give voice to victims’ needs.
