Gaia Amazonas - Amazon Mining Roundtable

Gaia Amazonas, a Colombian non-governmental organisation founded in 1990, supports indigenous peoples in the Colombian Amazon to exercise their territorial rights and to manage their own environment. Gaia Amazonas have received a grant from the Trust to help in setting up a Roundtable on mining in the Amazon, which will bring together indigenous peoples, the Colombian government and the private sector to analyse the impact of mining in the region and put forward constructive proposals to deal with the environmental and social impact.
