Freedom of Expression: Current Grantees
Freedom of expression is the lifeblood of democratic debate on issues of public importance and a key right in the digital world. We support monitoring and advocacy, as well as litigation in international courts. We fund training (in Africa, former Yugoslavia and in a number of conflict zones), and assistance to journalists to produce content, mainly on issues related to human rights in conflict zones. We also fund organisations that campaign on writers in prison, and advocate to improve access to the written word.
