Human Rights Defenders: Current Grantees

Rights can’t be practical and effective without the brave and frequently dangerous work of human rights defenders. We support groups protecting human rights defenders on the frontline and building their technical proficiency and personal security and risk assessment skills. We give support to emergency grants to local individuals, and safe havens, scholarships and bursaries for threatened writers, academics, freelancers and refugees.. We support the strengthening of the international legal framework for human rights defenders, raising awareness of individuals at risk and the interaction between groups and networks of defenders.
