Legal & Other: Current Grantees

SRT supports a variety of legal organizations, associations of women lawyers and women’s organizations who use the law to defend women’s rights. Grantees advocate for the implementation of existing laws, for mainstreaming gender crimes into litigation based on universal jurisdiction, and provide legal aid or assist women in self representation. They utilize the formal legal systems as well as mediation and traditional justice systems. Recognizing that not all work promoting women’s rights and gender equality falls into sub-themes, the Trust also supports other work to increase women’s political participation and economic rights.
