Trafficking: Current Grantees
Human trafficking affects between one and four million people each year (UNODC). The Trust supports women’s groups in origin, transit and destination countries, and networking initiatives among regional anti-trafficking groups. We fund prevention and protection programmes, as well as services which provide legal, medical and psychological support, which is critical for recovery and to prepare women to prosecute their traffickers. Groups conduct advocacy campaigns for adherence to international conventions and improved domestic laws, and training for law enforcement professionals. Grantees carry out research ranging from the health aspects of trafficking to investigating the schemes traffickers use to recruit vulnerable women and girls.
