Southall Black Sisters
Southall Black Sisters (SBS), founded in 1979, is a UK organisation supporting the rights of black and minority ethnic women, focusing particularly on gender-based violence. SBS combines service provision with policy advocacy for victims of domestic violence. They assist victims in navigating the legal system and social services, locate emergency housing and provide mental health counselling while also simultaneously striving to reform policies relating to benefits for immigrant women who flee abusive homes.
