Women's Legal Centre
Women’s Legal Centre (WLC) was established in 1999 by a group of women lawyers who wanted to use the law as an instrument with which to challenge discrimination against black women in South Africa. It is based in Cape Town, and aims to advance and protect the human rights of all women in South Africa. WLC provides free legal advice to women, litigates cases at the Constitutional Court level, and advocates on law reform.
