GuidelinesThe Sigrid Rausing Trust takes as its guiding framework the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations in 1948. The preamble of the Declaration begins with these words: “Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.” The funding categories below are all human rights orientated, and aim to form a coherent framework for the work of the Trust. The Trust’s funding is divided into five categories:
Most of the work of the Trust is in the field of international human rights. The Trustees are interested in lasting social change, and in forming long-term partnerships with the organisations the Trust supports.
