Anti-Violence Network of Georgia

The Anti-Violence Network of Georgia (founded in 2003) is a non-governmental organisation which has 10 regional committees throughout Georgia and runs two shelters for women and children who have been victims of domestic violence. It provides free legal consultations and representation in court, as well as psychosocial services for domestic violence victims. With the aim of refining the law on domestic violence, the Network works on legal initiatives and advocates on the issue. It trains police officers, prosecutors, lawyers, judges and human rights activists across the country on the law on violence against women, engages local government actors on their role in combating domestic violence, and lobbies for law and policy reform. The Network actively works on raising awareness of domestic violence and engages in different information campaigns.
