Bellingcat

Bellingcat was founded in 2015 as a multi-disciplinary international collective of researchers, investigators and citizen journalists focused on supporting and promoting the use of open-source investigations to find truth and advance justice and accountability. Through the identification, collection, archiving and analysis of information found on the internet, Bellingcat conducts investigations on topics that range from the conduct of parties in conflict to corruption or the rise of the far right in Eastern Europe. The articles and research published on the website are conducted by Bellingcat’s investigation team, which includes staff, contributors and volunteers from its large international network. Bellingcat also conducts joint investigations with prominent international media like the BBC, New York Times, Spiegel and many others. Additionally, the collective develops and shares guides on using open-source investigation tools and conducts training.
