Engine room

The Engine Room was established in 2010, born out of research work in Egypt on the use of media in protest mobilisation. That work identified a large information gap: activists lacked timely, applicable, tactical support to effectively use technology and data to meet their goals. The Engine Room supports human rights defenders and social justice activists to use technology and data techniques and strategies by providing direct support, developing accessible documentation and research, and building robust communities of practice to face new problems and opportunities.
