Equitas

EQUITAS (Equipo Colombiano de Trabajo Forense y Asistencia Psicosocial) was founded in 2004 by a group of forensic anthropologists. It aims to bring independent forensic expertise to the investigation of gross human rights violations in Colombia, particularly those committed in the internal armed conflict and in the context of the sociopolitical violence. It responds to requests for forensic support from human rights organisations litigating cases of forced disappearances, extrajudicial executions, massacres and homicides and also works with victims’ organisations to support the search for their disappeared loved ones.
