International Refugee Rights Initiative

The International Refugee Rights Initiative (IRRI) was founded in New York in 2004 by three former employees of the international refugee programme of Human Rights First. IRRI’s mandate is to promote the human rights of those affected by forced displacement and conflict, with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa. The organisation has staff in the US, UK, Uganda and Senegal, and operates three programmes: Preventing Mass Atrocity, Protecting Rights in Exile, and Restoring Citizenship.
