Established in 1991, the Kenya Human Rights Commission aims to enhance human rights centered governance at all levels. KHRC strengthens electoral governance, combats ethnic polarisation, tackles extra-judicial killings, and pursues accountability and redress for historical injustices and electoral violence. The organisation also works on business and human rights, seeks to expand civic space and fosters citizenship and labour rights, while advancing the participation of women, LGBTI people and persons with disabilities, alongside providing solidarity to at-risk groups. To this end, the organisation undertakes research, monitoring, capacity-building, advocacy, legal aid, and public interest litigation.
