The Oakland Institute is an independent policy think tank which was founded in 2004 to increase public participation and to promote fair debate on critical social, economic, and environmental issues. It works with grassroots activists and policymakers both in the US and developing countries, and builds networks of think tanks and activists to strengthen social movements nationally and internationally.
SRT supported the Oakland Institute from 2011 to 2012, and resumed support in 2014.
