Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon

Established in 1983, The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) seeks to conserve nature and promote sustainable resource use in Lebanon. It does this through establishing and managing protected areas, undertaking biodiversity research, informing conservation policy and engaging communities. SNPL is a global leader in community-based conservation, having achieved international recognition for establishing a network of locally-managed protected areas called ‘himas’
