University College London – Institute of Neurology

University College London’s Queen Square Institute of Neurology and the UK Dementia Research Institute (DRI) are establishing a pioneering Neurogenetic Therapies Programme at the Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre, to develop and test promising new genetic therapies for neurodegenerative and dementia-causing diseases like Alzheimer’s. This is the first step towards the creation of a dedicated, specialist integrated Centre for Genetic Therapies for Neurodegeneration at UCL, to accelerate the development of novel therapies and run clinical trials as soon as ideas come to fruition. The Sigrid Rausing Trust’s grant will allow the Institute to build the core team and infrastructure to run the programme, and to conduct four significant trials over the next five years.
