Human Rights Center – University of California, Berkeley

Established in 1994, the Human Rights Centre at the University of California, Berkeley aims to pursue accountability for mass human rights violations via innovative and evidence-based methodologies, promote the voice of survivors of abuses, and build the research and advocacy capacities of human rights organisations. The Center runs three programmes focused on human rights and technology; human rights and health; and human rights and business, alongside a fellowship programme for students.

The organization received a £75,000 emergency grant to advise the Ukraine 5am Coalition’s on digital documentation of crimes to ensure it meets evidentiary standards in court. The organization will also help verify the authenticity of open-source materials collected by the Coalition.
