Women’s Fund in Georgia

Established in 2005, the Women’s Fund in Georgia (WFG) was set up to support a range of women’s rights and empowerment activities and to develop a strong women’s rights movement in the country. Through regular and rapid-response grantmaking, WFG provides support to new and existing women’s groups for activities including the protection of women’s rights; improving women’s economic opportunities; assisting women living in conflict zones; promoting legislative initiatives; and supporting women’s collaborative initiatives. In addition to grantmaking, WFG provides technical support to new groups and builds the capacity of small grassroots women’s organisations through leadership and organisational development training.
