Truth, Justice and Memory
In this programme, we support truth-seeking, justice and memorialisation initiatives in the aftermath of grave and systematic human rights abuses. This includes efforts to achieve accountability as well as reparations and other remedies for survivors. Grantees also foster a broader societal acknowledgment of past violations, promoting critical reflection and engagement. Finally, we fund groups engaged in peacebuilding and reconciliation, focusing on efforts to rebuild relationships within societies, strengthen social cohesion and promote coexistence. All our grantees must be non-partisan and committed to advancing a human rights culture.
We are not limited to considering organisations located in, or working on, specific geographic regions in this programme.
