Aibolands Museum

Aibolands Museum (aibo is Estonian Swedish dialect for 'island inhabitant') in Haapsalu, Sweden, aims to display and preserve the centuries-old history and culture of the Estonian Swedes. The museum owns two buildings: one houses museum objects, a Swedish library, and a staff room, and the other is an exhibition space.

The Estonian Swedes lived by the sea, and the museum displays some Estonian Swedish wooden boats. It is now engaged in a project to develop the harbour for these historic boats, supported by a grant from SRT. The vision of the museum is to become an Estonian Swedish culture, research and educational centre in Estonia.
