COVID-19 Relief and Recovery (Barbados) Inc

COVID-19 Relief and Recovery (Barbados) Inc was established in March 2020 in cooperation with the office of the Prime Minister. Its singular purpose is to assure Barbados’ preparedness in the face of the global pandemic, using a three-pronged approach: the procurement of ventilators and other medical equipment; the establishment of an “Adopt a Family” program to ensure the basic income of the 1,500 Barbados families most vulnerable to income loss due to the virus; and the procurement of sufficient personal protection equipment and test kits for the island. The fund will support residents in immediate crisis and far into the future, as the tourism industry reopens and international visitors return to the island.
