Open Society Foundations (Foundation SolidarityNet)

The Open Society Foundations (OSF) were established by George Soros nearly 30 years ago to build vibrant and tolerant societies whose governments are accountable to their citizens. The SolidarityNet Foundation was set up in 2013 by OSF to address the needs of Greek society in the face of the economic crisis. It aims to deliver medical, legal and employment support to the most vulnerable Greek citizens through a series of ‘Solidarity Centres’, initially in Athens and Thessaloniki. These centres will also make grants to local NGOs in order to strengthen Greek civil society.
