Academy of St Martin in the Fields

Founded in 1958, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields (ASMF) is a world renowned chamber orchestra, specialising in fresh interpretations of established orchestral music. It aims to advance the performance, appreciation and education of classical music. It also aims to provide and support teaching and community initiatives of music through performance, coaching and music workshops. ASMF takes a player-led approach, which empowers every member of the orchestra and makes for more collaborative performances as compared with the more traditional, conductor-led model. It is one of the world’s most-recorded orchestras; through a combination of national and international tours, ASMF performs roughly 100 concerts per year.
