B’tselem (a Hebrew synonym for human dignity) was founded in 1989 and describes itself as “The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories.”

B’tselem (a Hebrew synonym for human dignity) was founded in 1989 and is focused on monitoring and documenting human rights abuses in the Occupied Territories. B’Tselem conducts research and advocacy on a wide variety of issues, including Israeli restrictions on Palestinian movement; the Israeli military justice system; human rights violations in Hebron; interrogation methods of the Israel Security Agency; and lethal force and military accountability.
