CEDEM (The Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law)

Founded in 2005 and based in Kyiv, the Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law (CEDEM) is a Ukrainian civil society organisation working to strengthen democracy, media freedom and the rule of law. It promotes legal and policy reforms that support independent media, an enabling environment for civil society, transparent and accountable governance, and greater public participation in decision-making. Through advocacy, strategic litigation, research and public education, CEDEM helps advance democratic reforms and Ukraine’s integration with European standards.
