Citizens UK
Citizens UK (Citizens), founded in London in 1989, uses the collective power of people and democratic institutions to win local change for communities on issues they care about, and to hold political leaders to account. Citizens comprises 500 member organisations across 18 chapters, including faith groups, schools, universities, charities, and trade unions. It is among the largest and most diverse alliances of people and community institutions in the UK. It is best known for the national Living Wage Campaign, which has achieved over £4.2 billion in additional wages for low-paid workers since 2001. The organisation was founded on the idea that people have power when they come together across their differences and find common ground to make change.
