George Devine Memorial Award
The George Devine Award was founded in 1966 by Jocelyn Herbert following the death of her partner, the writer, actor, director and co-founder of the Royal Court Theatre George Devine. It is awarded to promising young playwrights for a new stage work. In recent years, the prize has been £15,000, and it is working to expand the reach and ensure nominations from diverse pathways and backgrounds.
