Founded in 2024, Get Real News (GRN) is an online grassroots newsroom led by former NBC journalist and investigative reporter Heidi Przybyla. GRN’s mission is to reinvigorate the declining field of local journalism and meet the changing needs of American audiences, including the shifts in format (towards video), platform (towards social media platforms), and messenger (away from institutions and towards locally relevant personalities/influencers).
