Global Survivors Fund

The Global Survivors Fund was established in 2019 by Nobel Peace Prize laureates Nadia Murad and Dr. Denis Mukwege. It works with survivors, local partners, technical experts, and government stakeholders to enhance access to reparations for and with survivors of conflict-related sexual violence.  Its main activities include: 1) It acts to provide interim reparative measures when the responsible parties are unable or unwilling to provide reparation, (including compensation, livelihood support, educational grants, medical and health care); 2) It advocates at the international level for the implementation of reparation programmes; and 3) It guides states and civil society by providing expertise and technical support for designing programmes. Its approach, that puts co-creation at the centre, aims to return agency and autonomy to those that have been stripped of it and ensures that actions are relevant, impactful, and driven by the aspirations of survivors.

Our grant will be enhancing access to reparations for Ukrainian survivors.
