Hrant Dink Foundation

The Hrant Dink Foundation was founded in 2007  following the assassination of Hrant Dink, a Turkish-Armenian newspaper editor. Dink was outspoken about pluralism, democracy, human rights and minority rights in Turkey. The organisation promotes dialogue, empathy and peace by advocating for democracy and human rights regardless of ethnicity, religion, or gender. The Foundation monitors hate speech in the Turkish media, fosters improved Turkish-Armenian relations through exchange programmes, and preserves minority cultures via oral history projects and cultural heritage tours. The foundation’s award winning 23.5 Hrant Dink Site of Memory, marks the location where Hrant Dink was assassinated and is a museum dedicated to remembrance and reflection on Dink’s life and the broader struggle for justice and equality in Turkey.
