Institute of Mass Information (IMI)

The Institute of Mass Information (IMI) was founded in 1995 to strengthen independent journalism and stand up for media freedom in Ukraine. It does this mainly through monitoring violations of free expression, training for journalists and campaigning for better media legislation. It has become one of the leaders in emergency support for Ukrainian journalism. The organisation was awarded an emergency grant of £120,000 in May 2022 in response to the crisis in Ukraine. This will be a contribution to a fund providing emergency logistical, financial and technical support to Ukrainian media outlets and journalists.
