John Muir Trust

The John Muir Trust is a UK-based conservation charity dedicated to protecting and enhancing wild places, for the benefit of all. Founded in 1983, the Trust owns and cares for some of the UK’s wild places including Ben Nevis, Schiehallion and Sandwood Bay and areas within Skye, Knoydart and Assynt. The organisation also works with partners to manage land at Thirlmere in the Lake District and Coventry Charterhouse. In addition to land management, the organisation has an inclusive environmental award scheme – the John Muir Award – that encourages people of all backgrounds to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places.
