Masimanyane Women’s Support Centre was set up in 1995 as a crisis and support centre for women who had experienced domestic and sexual violence in the Eastern Cape, in South Africa.

Masimanyane Women’s Support Centre was set up in 1995 as a crisis and support centre for women who had experienced domestic and sexual violence in the Eastern Cape, in South Africa. It has since gone on to expand its remit to national advocacy on violence. It hosts the secretariat for Amanitare (a pan-African Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights network working with 57 partners in 21 African countries). Masimanyane also provides technical support for Norwegian Church Aid’s anti-violence programmes in Iraq, Turkey and Jordan.
