NGO Coalition against Torture in Tajikistan

The NGO Coalition against Torture in Tajikistan was established in September 2011 and is made up of 11 member organisations and six partners. The Coalition was set up to consolidate civil society’s efforts to combat the practice of torture in Tajikistan and the impunity that allows it to thrive. It provides legal aid for victims of torture and their families, and coalition members’ activities include advocating for legal reforms, pressing for ratification of legal instruments, producing shadow reports, and monitoring the implementation of UN recommendations from various bodies.
