Oxford University – Policy and Evidence Centre
The Policy and Evidence Centre (PEC) on Modern Slavery and Human Rights was established in 2019 by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) to improve understanding of modern slavery. It was initially hosted by the British Institute of International and Comparative Law before moving to the Humanities Division of the University of Oxford in April 2024. PEC is a founding research institute of the new Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities which marries seven humanities faculties with libraries, collections, exhibitions, and performance. PEC focuses on producing and commissioning impartial research to provide authoritative insight and analysis on modern slavery, leading to policy change and improved cultural understanding.
