Rochdale Connections Trust

The Rochdale Connections Trust (RCT) was established in 1997 by local Youth Magistrates concerned by the growing number of young people disengaged from school and without stable home lives. First as a mentoring programme and then as a wholistic family support service, RCT continues to support at risk youth and their families throughout Rochdale. It has a particular focus on therapeutic services for women overcoming domestic abuse, male perpetrators seeking to reform, and children exposed to trauma in the home. Additionally, RCT runs a mental health network for community members affected by mental health challenges; insights from their experiences then help shape local service provision, ensuring that it remains responsive to the local needs. Each year, RCT supports more than 450 young people; roughly 330 women experiencing the impact of domestic abuse; and 125 men referred by probation or seeking to change their patterns of behaviour.
