The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

The Wildlife Trusts are a federation of 46 local wildlife conservation organisations. The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust (YWT) was established in 1946, and works to conserve, protect and restore wildlife and wild places in Yorkshire. They manage and restore over 100 nature reserves, and campaign to influence policy to protect Yorkshire’s natural heritage.

The YWT stands out for their work in urban areas. Specifically, through their Team Wilder programme, which began in 2022, under which they support and facilitate individuals and communities to make meaningful changes for nature’s recovery in urban spaces for environmental and social impact.
