University of Warwick

The Trust provided funding to the Centre for Human Rights in Practice (CHIP) at the University of Warwick for a human rights project to develop the writing and research skills of school students from disadvantaged backgrounds through a human rights essay competition. The project includes a series of writing workshops, accompanied by online resources, to support the research and writing skills of pupils from non-traditional backgrounds across the West Midlands. The participants submit a 1,500 word essay on the theme of social justice and the author of the winning essay has it published in Lacuna Magazine, as well as a paid summer internship with the magazine.
