We Are Monitoring

We Are Monitoring (WAM) was established in Poland in 2022, emerging from the Monitoring Centre of the Grupa Granica coalition, which was formed in response to the humanitarian crisis at the Poland–Belarus border. WAM documents human rights violations against people on the move through monitoring, research and data collection, including testimonies of abuse and records of border deaths. It also provides legal information and referrals to medical and other support services. The organisation uses its evidence to inform advocacy and strategic litigation, engaging with policymakers in Poland and at EU level to improve protections for migrants and strengthen migration governance. Its reports and data are widely used by civil society organisations and international bodies.
