Trust’s Director moves on

After five and a half years, the Trust’s Director, Duncan Wilson, will leave his position at the end of February. During his tenure, Duncan has overseen a staffing restructure, reviews of the Trust’s grant making programmes, changes to governance, and has most recently helped implement the Chair’s vision for a new strategic approach.

Speaking of his time with the Trust, Duncan said, “Directing the Trust at such a pivotal time in its history has been a huge privilege. This is a period of immense challenge to human rights and environmental protection. The Trust’s continued commitment to those issues and its belief in the role of civil society to bring about positive change, is a source of enormous pride. I would like to thank all the staff and trustees for their support during my time with the Trust. Above all thank you to Sigrid Rausing for her encouragement and guidance, and for her incredible generosity in support of human rights.”

Sigrid Rausing said, “It has been a pleasure to work with Duncan over the past years, and I am very sorry to see him go. He has fundamentally re-shaped our practice of grant-making, and has been consistently thoughtful and insightful in all our meetings. I wish him all the best for the future.”

Sigrid Rausing and Andrew Puddephatt will take over as joint directors on an interim basis.
