Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC)
The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) was founded in 2007 by cultural activists. It distributes funds directly to artists and cultural structures for research, development, and production across the Arab world. Funds are given across a range of art-forms including cinema, photography, visual and performing arts, creative and critical writings, music, documentary film. This is done through open calls and targeted programmes for research, training and cultural events. AFAC has a strong track record of supporting early stage artists who then go on to have critical success.
