Associazione 21 Luglio

Associazione 21 Luglio was established in 2010 to protect and promote the rights of Roma communities in Italy. It takes its name from the day a child was forcibly placed in adoption by the Italian state. 21 Luglio’s activities include monitoring conditions in Roma settlements in eight Italian cities; documenting violations of human rights; putting pressure on institutions at local and national levels; intervening in cases of discrimination or incitement to race hatred and taking test cases; conducting awareness-raising campaigns and public events; and running training courses on human rights targeting Roma youth.
