Civilisation Network

The Civilisation Network was established in 2017 as an informal coalition of 34 Hungarian civil society organizations and has been at the forefront of the response to the closing of civic space. The principle aims of the coalition are to strengthen civil society through joint advocacy, build resilience by learning and discussing lessons on how best to work in the current civic environment, and build a larger constituency of public support for their work across the country through more effective communication about the role and value of civil society. The coalition is currently hosted by the Ökotárs – Hungarian Environmental Partnership Foundation.
