Doctors of the World UK

Established in 1998, Doctors of the World UK is part of the global Médecins du Monde network which delivers over 300 projects in more than 70 countries through 3,000 volunteers. Doctors of the World is an international humanitarian health organisation that provides emergency and long-term medical care to excluded people while fighting for equal access to healthcare worldwide. Its vision is of a world in which vulnerable people affected by war, natural disasters, disease, hunger, poverty or exclusion get the healthcare they need regardless of income or status. In addition to direct service delivery and patient advocacy, Doctors of the World seeks to enable vulnerable people to claim their right to healthcare. Its annual European patient data survey identifies the social, political and practical barriers excluded people face to healthcare and the policy and practice solutions that are needed.
