E-Romnja

Founded and registered in 2012, E-Romnja is a Roma feminist organisation that aims to support the rights of Roma women, including ending violence against women and girls and sexual and reproductive health and rights. The organisation works at the community (Mizil, Valea Seacă and Giurgiu) and national levels and engages at the regional (EU) and international (UN) levels. E-Romnja’s strategies include: policy and advocacy, public mobilisation, movement-building, strategic litigation (national and EU levels), and attitudinal change work. E-Romnja developed the S.O.R.A. methodology (‘sister’ in Romanian) to form and support groups of Roma women to challenge and change harmful community attitudes and institutional policies and practices.
