Education Centre for Women in Democracy

The Education Centre for Women in Democracy conducts capacity-building for aspiring women leaders, providing women’s human rights education (through training workshops and seminars for community-based human rights educators and policy makers), and engaging in community mobilization. The Trust supported an education programme that provided human rights education and training to rural women working in community-based organisations in five districts of the Rift Valley. This training primarily addressed issues of property and inheritance rights, rape and gender-based violence.
